Ivan Blake was born in Pretoria, South Africa, in 1949, died on the cross of Christ in C.E. 31, was born again at Sedaven High School in 1965, and was called to preach Christ at Helderberg College in 1969.
Elvera Hurlow caught his eye at college and became his bride in December, 1972. God entrusted them with two boys to raise their parents, Brendon (Gina's husband) and Donnevan (Heidi's husband). And, to add fun to age, God gave Ivan and Elvera four grandchildren, Garron, Dylan, Raegan and Finnegan. The Blake family moved to the US in 1987, became citizens in 1994, and Minnesotans in June, 2006.
Ivan loves people, especially when he can point them to Jesus as their hope and joy. He graduated from Andrews University with B.Th, M.A. (religion) and D.Min. (emphasis in "Worship") degrees. For fun Ivan keeps fit, reads, gardens and "pots" around in the kitchen. |
