MCA in Flight
If you ask someone that loves flying “why”, you will often hear about the dual purposes of flight: An airplane provides the enjoyment of viewing the world from a vertical perspective, and it also provides the ability to rapidly arrive at a destination.
Minnetonka Christian Academy was founded about 120 years ago. This began a flight, if you will, that also has a dual purpose. One purpose is to educate students, building a base of knowledge that leads to success in their chosen fields. The critical purpose of MCA, though, is to provide our children with daily help on their spiritual journey in becoming Seventh-day Adventist Christians. It is a journey that has the ultimate destination in mind.
In order to fly, an aircraft must overcome the negative forces of drag and gravity by generating greater amounts of forward thrust and lift. The magic of flight occurs when this happens.
MCA is the same, in that positive forces have exceeded the negative forces over all these decades. We are about to lift off for another year, because God has blessed our individual and collective efforts to lift this school and move it forward.
Consider the positive force you and your family can have on MCA. First and most importantly, consider carefully whether sending your children to MCA is the right answer for your family. Consider starting or increasing your 12 cubed commitment. And regardless, join us this Sunday (August 31, at 8:30 pm) to help maintain the school!
Flight is a privilege that we often take for granted. MCA is also a privilege that is too easy to take for granted. Together, we can put MCA on a great flight path that will help our students in their journey to obtain a great education and reach an even greater goal: A personal relationship with Jesus.
