Minnetonka Christian Academy - A New School Year
It is hard for me to imagine that the summer is gone and the start of school is right around the corner on Tuesday, September 2. MCA Registration Day is tomorrow from 1:00 to 5:00 pm followed by our second annual Back to School BBQ.
As the thought of the school year starting becomes a reality, I would like to once more offer to anyone considering Christian education for their students, the opportunity to contact me about MCA. I have become more and more convicted in the past few months of the benefits of Christian education. I can share with you the statistic that shows approximately 80% of the Seventh-day Adventist children that attend an Adventist school, remain in the church as life-long members. The statistic alone is very powerful to an Adventist parent desiring that relationship with the church for their kids. Yet, what has come to me in the past few months seems to be a bit more of an applicable concept of the holistic approach to the role God needs to play in the lives of our young people today.
I like the part of the statistic I shared with you that commits our students to life-long membership as a follower of Christ. But more than that, I love that our MCA students have opportunities to apply God in their lives and to have opportunities to see Him through situations other than just in church. Our world today is not an easy road for kids and the more they are able to relate to God in any and all areas of this world, I believe the stronger their relationship with Him will be. My goal at MCA is to provide our kids with those applicable situations in as many varied forms as possible.
If you know of an opportunity we can share with our students to experience being the hands and feet of Christ in our world and specifically, our community, please contact me.
Again, your prayers for us as teachers and staff mean so much and we thank you for your commitment to MCA as we head into the 2008/2009 school year.
