It's Back-to-School Time at MCA!
As our children groan, thinking about their summer being over, our school staff are preparing their lesson plans and classrooms to be ready for the first day of school, Tuesday, September 2. August is always a very busy month in our school building and we invite you to be an active participant in those efforts.
Sunday, August 3, we will hold a Work Bee beginning at 8:30 am and running throughout the day. Much effort was put into upgrading our building last summer so our biggest projects this year are more in the area of cleaning. Some of the help we need includes:
- Cleaning
- Washing Windows
- Vacuuming
- Painting
- Floors stripped and waxed
- Dusting
- Bathroom work
- Install air conditioners
- Bus cleaning
If you are not available that Sunday to be a part of our Work Bee, reach out to Deb Kierstead at school. She can help you find a task that works for you that fits into your schedule at another time.
School Registration for K-12 and our Back To School BBQ are on Sunday, August 17. You may begin registration at 1:00 p.m. and end the afternoon on the front lawn enjoying dinner around the grill. Everything is provided so just come and enjoy. If you know that you need to work out finances, why not call Deb Kierstead (952-935-4497) prior to Registration Day and complete the paperwork. It will save you a ton of time waiting in line at Registration.
MCA Teacher Dedication is always a special time of commitment for our MCA Staff. This year, that dedication will be held during both church services on Sabbath, August 23. Please plan to be in church that day as we dedicate our staff and their work to God that Sabbath morning.
MCA has new teaching staff joining us this year. Michael Smith is joining us to teach 3rd and 4th grades, Brent Mann is moving here from Missouri to teach High School Science, Matthew Jakobsons, a recent graduate of Andrews University, will be teaching High School English, and a familiar face, Maria Osvold, who leads our food program will be teaching Spanish. Reach out to these great people and welcome them to our school family. You will be richly blessed by the impact they will make on our school.
If you are considering MCA for your students this fall, please contact Ken Rannow for further information at 952-935-4497 or 320-309-1382. There is a special place for your student in a classroom here on our campus for the 2008-2009 school year!
