OUT OF THE MOUTHS OF ... KIDS!
Every Sabbath there is the happy chatter of kids and teacher's voices that can be heard in the hallway, a sure sign that Sabbath School has begun for the close to 65 children, from Cradle Roll to Juniors, that attend here every week. I know my opinion of the wonderful work that is done by our faithful leaders and assistants but to find out what our young attendees think I decided to ask some of them what they enjoyed most about their Sabbath Schools. What follows is straight from their hearts.
Natalie (Junior): "The teachers are really nice. We have fun activities. We once played musical chairs. This was like an introduction to the lesson. The lessons are good and we look up lots of verses in the Bible. I really like the mission stories."
John (Junior): "I like the lessons, they are very resourceful. We do short physical activities. They make the lesson easier to understand."
Derek (Primary): "I have a good teacher and she is nice. Sometimes we play games - it helps us learn about the lesson. It is good to learn about God."
Jessica (Primary): "We have Bible stories and I like to compare them with other stories. I like the projects, like making little puppet animals. It helps me remember the lesson. We have fun games. When we learned about Peter walking on water we had rafts and we pulled each other. Sometimes we have snacks. We had crackers and grape juice when we learned about Passover. I like songs. I like everything!"
John (Primary): "We have fun games and crafts that help us learn about Jesus. I meet people from school. Sometimes we get crackers. The most important thing is that our teacher teaches us about Jesus."
Nathaniel (Kindergarten): "I like making crafts and eating. I learn about God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit. After Sabbath School I go to church to learn more about God."
Olivia (Pre-Kindergarten): "I like making crafts. I like to learn about God and Jesus. Our teacher tells us stories."
Karis (Pre-Kindergarten): "It's fun playing with the toys and things in the room. I like crafts. I know my teachers love me. I learn about Jesus."
Finn (Cradle Roll): "Uh-hum" was his answer to the simple question, "Do you like Sabbath School?" (His mother says his excitement about going to Sabbath School is very obvious).
