"SDA Prayers @ Hotmail.com"
You've seen it listed in the church bulletin and on the hall monitor during Sabbath. You may have even seen it on the church website at www.knowgodmore.com. So what is sdaprayers@hotmail.com?
Have you ever wanted a one-stop spot to get your prayer need out to intercessors? Do you have a prayer group that is willing to intercede for those with a need? Do you feel your prayer life needs a focus towards those within the church family and beyond? Would you like to offer your friends or co-workers a resource they can use on their own terms? sdaprayers@hotmail.com can be a great place to start. Currently this confidential prayer link has 25 intercessors that accept e-mailed prayer who then pray for the needs in small groups or within their own daily prayer time.
Since 2004 the prayer link intercessors have had the opportunity to pray over many needs; some of the basic are health and financial, along with life's decision making moments. It's been exciting to pray for non-church members and have prayers sent across the country and into Canada. Some fun facts about sdaprayers@hotmail.com intercessors over the last two years are:
- 2006 we have received approximately 44 prayer requests
- 2007 we have received approximately 88 prayer requests.
I mention "approximately" because some of the prayer requests have multiple listings in the text body.
If you would like to be part of this prayer ministry, send a quick note to sdaprayers@hotmail.com and be prepared! You may find your prayer life challenged and busy. You may even find yourself in prayer "without ceasing". But knowing that you are interceding for those that need "backup", I'm confident you will discover miracles within your prayer time; and when you think things are quiet, perhaps it is God working behind the scenes for others. Or maybe you really are busy but you don't feel the strain because God is taking care of YOU!
I sort of like both thoughts.
