Participation in Ministry
At the Minnetonka Adventist Church we believe participation is crucial in both worship
and fellowship. Instead of merely looking in or looking on, choose to break loose
from fear, and be active in expressions of warmth to God and fellow-believers. The
following expressions are clearly Biblical behaviors intended to enhance vertical and
horizontal relationships.
- Studying Christians are known as people who learn and study the scriptures.
- Praying There is a great power and harmony in corporate and small group prayer.
- Preaching The Work of God is central to the life of the church. We listen with discernment for God to speak through leaders.
- Inviting Knowing God and sharing God go together. We are willing to invite people to come and worship with us.
- Comfort We will stand with people through times of stress, pain, and disappointment.
- Using Names We desire to be an instrument of God's grace in a personal way by learning the names of those we talk to.
- Shoulder Embracing Christians love each other as family and show warmth by appropriate touch.
- Clapping This expresses the joy and excitement of people to worship God.
- Lifting Hands This is seen as an expression of surrender or helplessness. It symbolizes openness before God.
